Remember when there was that bullshit meme going around the internet about taking a girl swimming on the first date so you can see what she really looks like? Well with the commencement of Summer, why don’t we go take a dip!
The Summer Pantone spread is inspired by earthy tones and beachy vibes that you can wear from day to night! Not only is the glam being turned up, but I wanted to recommend some of my favourite waterproof and water resistant products so you can be worry-free when you’re splashing around this summer (all products marked with an asterisk are long lasting, waterproof, or water-resistant).

What better way to start the summer than with a glam night out! If a black smokey eye is daunting for you, ease your way into it by starting with a shimmery brown hue! Paired with a neutral lip, this show-stopping look will have all eyes on you. Start off light and build the colour; it’s easier to add more pigment than wipe the excess away.

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Ravenswood
If a little pop of colour is more your style, try adding a rusty colour around the eye and pair with a warm neutral lip. Keep it simple and focus more on the skin; great skin is always in! Start with a creamy foundation and for that extra glow, add a liquid or cream highlighter. For photos, I added thermal water for some extra shine.

Avène Eau Thermale
Fun Tip: Put thermal water in the fridge and enjoy a quick refreshing mist when you’re soaking up the sun! A great way to cool off when you're not by the water or sitting poolside.
Got some amazing baby-blues you want to draw some attention to? Try a golden sandy colour to make those eyes pop! This look is perfect if you want to spice up your no-makeup makeup routine. Whether you wear it to the beach or out on the town for brunch, you’ll be a daytime stunner everywhere you go. You can use a simple coat of mascara or amp it up with multiple coats to make your lashes long and strong.

Besides a natural eye and bold lip, my go to this season has been a shimmery green eye look. Focus a light green on the centre of the lid and a darker forest green along the outer edge and through the crease. To finish the look, pop on a gold highlight to the inner corner and some coats of mascara. This is a look you can darken up if you want to transition your makeup from day to night without switching it up completely!
Key Products:Lancôme Colour Design Palette in Jade Fever
Dermablend Insta-Grip Jelly Primer*
Fun Tip: The Jelly Primer can be used as a pre-makeup instant hydrator and tightens the skin for a smoother makeup application.
Don’t sing the blues, dance the night away and wear the blues! Instead of darkening your look with black or brown, why not try a midnight blue? Whether you focus the colour or go crazy with it, remember to account for your eye shape and choose a look that will flatter you. You’d be surprised how taking the time to research makeup styles for your eye shape will change your eyeshadow game forever!
